What kind of flat iron are you using? What kind of shampoo and conditioner are you using? The product you use makes a difference and the flat iron makes a difference too.

alot of the time, those products out there aren't worth the money, so don't waste it. the only thing u really need is a thermal spray or heat protecting serum to prevent heat damage to ur hair (i use dove thermal spray, it's like 2 bucks @ wal-mart)

since ur hair is so thick, before ur straighten it in the morning, make a half-pony, and straighten that layer of hair. make sure u run the straightener throught slowly, and then don't brush it out right away, let the hot hair cool down befor u brush it. then do the top half. also, do smaller sections of hair. well, i hope i helped, good luck :)

First, buy a good flat iron spray. I use one, I forget what it's called but it's in a purple bottle. When you straighten your hair, divide your hair into different sections and tie them off loosely with elastic bands. Untie one section to straighten, clip the other sections out of the way, and comb that section. Spray with the spray, straighten, comb, straighten, spray, straighten, comb. Run your hair over a few times until it's straight, clip up that section, and begin on a new section. When you're finished, take it all out, and restraigthen it to get rid of the marks the elastics made. I use this method and it works for me.

This is happening because you are using a cheapy straightener (the walmart kinds!) These straighteners are really bad. Stay away from them!

This straightener is supposed to be the best one out there! http://www.folica.com/Sedu_Ionic_Cera_d1...

It will keep your hair straight as long as it is dry, NO EXCEPTIONS! I promise you!
