i'm going to get my hair chi straightened and it's expensive. my hair is really thick. if i got it chi straightened would it make my hair straight, thin, and permanent?

I had this done 3 years ago and yes it cost alot of money. Save your money. First; you will still have to use your flat iron EVERYDAY. Second; new growth is curly, not matter how good the straightner, your hair will grow back.......that's right curly. I found it to be a waste of time and an even bigger waste of money.

chi straightened? Chi is just a brand of flattening iron. Do you mean Thermal Ionics? I know that's a pricey service and is permanent the same way that a perm is in the curly direction.

you have to get a permanent straighting treatment for it to stay straight. when you say chi it makes me think of the brand of flat irons, which if you used, would make your hair look straight and thinner, but it would only last till you wash it!

humm i have a chi and it is just a straightener, it works really well, gets super hot and it will protect your hair

I would not do it.Permanent hair straightening is very damaging for your hair and just like someone else said when you hair grows back it will be curly ,so yes it's a waste of money.Just invest in a good flat iron and good hair products....
