How do you straighten hair which doesn't straighten with GHD straighteners?

Help! My hair won't straighten!

Try using what we used to call "juice can rollers"

I used to wash my hair, put a little gel on my wet hair and wear the rollers to bed. In the morning, my hair would be a lot straighter.

It's a pain to do every night, but it worked.

The only other thing that worked was the cream-style very harsh straightners that some black people use, but because my hair was also very fine, it fried it and I had to spend tons of money on conditioners to keep it from frizzing %26amp; breaking off. Not too satisfactory in the long haul.

you can have your hair chemically straightened in a salon lasts really well until roots come through and you have to condition it well coz it dries the hair.

What about chemical straightening? I just got mine done and while it is still not perfectly straight I can just GHD it in like 10 minutes now and its great!

I would advise you to get your hair chemically straightened. This is available in most good hairdressers and costs between 鎷?50-鎷?00. There is a solution applied to your hair (like perming solution, only the opposite!) and your hair is continually combed until it appears straight. Chemically straighened hair will grow out like dyed hair. If your hair is curly, as your hair grows your roots will return to the way they were before chemical straightening.

Advantages:

- normally don't have to straighten hair

- quick

- relatively cheap

- lasts for a good lenght of time

Disadvantages

- some argue this is bad for hair

- once chemically straightened the style cannot be changed

I know a few black people use some sort of straightener for afro hair and it becomes really straigh and sexy looking.

But there are chemical straighteners from most salons that dont do too much damage to your hair and it stays effective until your hair grows out. I recommend using "fudge" hair conditioner in the grey and orange tube that i was using at the time.

I used one in my wee adolescent grunge phase and it worked very well for me and iv got very curly hair

Well, have you tried straightening your hair with the GHD differently? like grabbing little sections of hair and then straightening them? my hair is quite thick and is a pain, that is what I have to do in order to straighten it... its time consuming but its worth it

I had the same problem! You need a Sedu Hair iron. They work best for curly hair. You also need to get a hair balm or something that will protect it from the heat (or you get frizzy). This is what I do...

1. Wash my hair and get a super great conditioner and leave it in for about 10 min. Then I wash it out.

2. Add a small amount of balm or heat activated hair frizz product.

3. I take a clippy and put 1/3 of my hair up on the top of my head. I use a big round, ruff brissled brush. Take thin pieces and roll them in the brush and blow dry. This may take a while.

4. After your done blow drying (your hair will be frizzy) I ussually go outside for a minute and let the weather do what it does that way I have the moister from the outdoors alrady in my hair. lol I dont care how corny that sunds.

5. Pin up in sections again, start straitning in small pieces. Don't squeeze as hard as you can on the straightener! Most people do that. Be gentle and slow. After your done use a light hairspray, I use silk theropy. It will not get hard or stiff and you can still run your fingers through it. If you have some frizzys use "SILK THEROPY SERUM". This is stuff is great. It is the reason I can now wera my hair straight

Silk Theropy makes a line that is great for makeing curly hair straight!

Hope this helped

I have very thick hair, and until i found ghds nothing would get it straight. But you have to section it off, straigten your hair bit by bit - this is the only way Ghds straighten mine. It taks about an hour but once you get into it, its ok. And then you have lovely straight hair for 2-3 days.
