I wash my hair every 4 or 5 days...but can i straighten it without the whole washing, blowdrying, and get the same effect?

Yeah you can, i only wash my hair every few days, and can leave it for up to four or five days, and all i do is run a pair of GHD hair straightners throught my hair, sometimes i only brush it through as they are so good the straightening lasts. When i dry my hair i just blast it with the hair dryer and don't blow dry it straight, it is usually a bit frizzy after drying is ( as it is naturally curly) and then i use the starightners on it and it is poker straight. hope this is helpful to you and saves you a bit of time. byeeeee

yeah, although it's better to wash your hair @ least every 3 days. u don't have to blowdry to straighten. it's better for your hair when it's not wet.

totally, straightening ur hair actually works best wen its the 2nd day after u wash it. cuz the oil helps hold the hair in place. but...don't u think its sort of 'unclean' to wash ur hair only 1-2 times a week?

Yes,put your hair in a wrap, that is comb your hair in a circular way around your head make sure that it is flat to your head then tie it up with a scarf or something like a scarf in the morning your hair will be straight

I prob wash my hair that much, and coz mine's waist length I prefer it straightened. It works better when your hair's not squeaky clean. I have to use an iron coz my hair won't stay straight if I use a normal straightener. Towel in one hand, iron in the other, hair in between!!!

BTW, it's not "unclean" to wash your hair 1/2 times a week. Washing your hair too often is bad for it as you're not letting the natural oils build up and replenish it, you're washing them away.

Course you can, why wouldnt you be able to??lucky you only having to wash your hair every 5 days, I have to wash mine every third day or you could fry chips in it!!But I still straighten it in between washes and it looks fine.

yes, i am a hair dresser and u should use a ceramic straight iron, but dont do it when ur hair is really oily b/c then it will make even more greasier

Yeah you can straighten hair without washing it, however you won't get the same effect. When you sleep your hair ends up in one position for a long time - so your best bet is to wash it! Bummmer i know!

The only other thing I can add that hasn't already been said is to try a dry shampoo spray on your hair first (such as Batiste - not sure if that's available outside the UK though, i'm sure there are alternatives) to take away some of the oil (if it gets greasy.) I've noticed that if i've straightened my hair while it's slightly greasy, it can leave an oily residue on the straightening iron - this will continue to build up if you use them on greasy hair, resulting in the straighteners making your hair even worse.

yes u can. when my hair is fresh from being washed, i can never get it dead straight. when the hair is a bit dirty it does straighten better and stays straight for longer
