What is the stuff called that you put in your hair before straighten it so it doesn't get fried

My hair stylist told me about this stuff that you put in your hair before straightening it. but i dont remember what its called. does anyone know what im talking about or a similar product that does the trick!?

Heat protection serum? There are loads of different ones available ranging from relatively cheap to quite expensive.

I use the CHI Iron Guard Thermal Protection Spray

it protects your hair and makes it feel soft :)
